No worries. There are two types of modeling - working with an agency or going freelance. Both types will be discussed but no matter which you choose, you have the same starting point. The portfolio. A portfolio is your calling card to agencies and businesses. It normally contains a number of pictures from test shoots, modeling jobs, and magazines as well as your resume and possibly comp cards. The role of an agent is simple - they find you modeling work. Talking with the big clients and companies, they do their best to get you placed in profitable shoots and collect their percentage of the profit. An agent will work with you in order to make you more desirable to companies - things like test shoots, comp cards, and other activities that all serve to show you off to the buyer’s market.
