Forget the boring mainstream stuff - let’s jump right to the fun stuff with lingerie modeling. Just like any other type of modeling, you’ll want to try to get in with a modeling agency. There are plenty that specialize in adult and lingerie modeling (just look at all the swimsuit models, half of that stuff covers less than lingerie!).
You will want a portfolio and comp cards. If you are looking to go into lingerie modeling, make sure that these reflect that. Choose tasteful pictures (nude or semi nude) since companies are going to be looking at your body and seeing if the lingerie would be a good match for you to model.

If you are invited to go to a test shoot or an open call for spicy modeling types, make sure you follow the rules of safety. Let a friend know where you are going, bring someone along with you, or better yet both. There are some really scary folks out there so it’s better to be safe than sorry. Just make sure that if you bring someone with you to the photo shoot that they know the proper rules of etiquette. Your significant other might not be the best person for this job if they either do not know, or do not fully approve of your choice in lingerie modeling.

You might want to consider being an underwear model. Showing off your midsection can be great fun when everything is just right there - plus you get to try out the latest styles of underwear. I don’t know about you, but I like feeling and seeing the new advances. Comfort, style - you want to have that close to your skin.
Underwear modeling is also well suited for those that love buying cute little panties, thongs, and lingerie and hate not being able to show it to the world. You might get arrested for indecent exposure if you ran down the street in your favorite panties but in a photo shoot you get paid for showing them off.

Most underwear modeling work is for catalogs. You might also get called in for a website or (rarely) a commercial. You will have to be very comfortable with your body as well as being semi-nude around everyone there. It will get easier as time goes on and you get more photo shoots under your belt. Because many models shy away from any type of nude modeling, underwear modeling might just be the thing for you to get into easily.

Well, you did it - you’re going to an audition. Whether the agency is having an open call where any aspiring model can attend or a closed audition, there are some definite do’s and don’t to ensure your chances of modeling survival.

Do’s
1. Show up early
2. Be prepared to work hard - modeling isn’t just laying around and letting people take pretty pictures of you
3. Be used to staying in one position for a long amount of time - posing for college art classes can help get your muscles used to this.
4. Help out as much as you can - don’t complain about how early it is, talk with your makeup designer about what colors you feel best accent your skin.
5. Be pleasant. You are too early in your career to take a prima donna attitude - although you shouldn’t even consider one later in your career. You can find beautiful people around every corner. Beautiful personalities though - those are rare.
