Just like any other type of modeling, you’ll want to try to get in with a modeling agency. There are plenty that specialize in adult and lingerie modeling (just look at all the swimsuit models, half of that stuff covers less than lingerie!).

You will want a portfolio and comp cards. If you are looking to go into lingerie modeling, make sure that these reflect that. Choose tasteful pictures (nude or semi nude) since companies are going to be looking at your body and seeing if the lingerie would be a good match for you to model.

If you are invited to go to a test shoot or an open call for spicy modeling types, make sure you follow the rules of safety. Let a friend know where you are going, bring someone along with you, or better yet both. There are some really scary folks out there so it’s better to be safe than sorry. Just make sure that if you bring someone with you to the photo shoot that they know the proper rules of etiquette. Your significant other might not be the best person for this job if they either do not know, or do not fully approve of your choice in lingerie modeling.

Lingerie modeling will have you working in a variety of mediums - catalogs, websites, magazines, runway shows, and many more. Sexy assertive models are needed to model lingerie and you can add your own special flair and personality to the industry.

Here are a few ways that you can make yourself more desirable to modeling agencies and casting agents:

Show Up Early
Be Prepared for long hours
Be pleasant to be around
Come prepared - have your portfolio and comp cards at the ready
Try to do some research about the companies and agencies before you show up - let them know there’s more than just a pretty face to look at
Offer a helping hand - while you don’t want to mess up careful hairstyling or makeup work, if it seems like they need some help setting up beforehand don’t hesitate to ask.

You only have one chance for a first impression, and the last thing you want to do is blow it. The modeling industry is heavily influenced by the networking you do - give a stellar performance and word gets around. So don’t mess up or everyone will be hearing about it. It’s like high school all over again.
